Now, you’re starting to worry that there might be a problem with your Nintendo Switch hardware. Unfortunately, it’s still stuck on that black charging screen. You leave the Switch to charge for a few hours and then turn it on again. But what if that doesn’t fix it? The Problem You might think it’s just a battery issue – maybe so depleted, and that it simply needs some charging. Instead, it gets stuck on a Black Charging Screen with a low battery indicator in the upper left corner. For fucks sake I don't want to even play through Stardew Valley or Super Mario Odyssey again because of all the progress that I lost in those games.Have you ever been too busy to play your Nintendo Switch for days, weeks, or even months? Then one day, you try to turn it on and charge it, only to find that it won’t power on. Out of me owning a Nintendo 64, Gamebody Advance, Gamecube, Gameboy Advance SP, DS, 3DS, Wii, Wii U, I've never had an issues with the quality and condition of the consoles but they astounding fact that I had to send in my switch for repairs TWO times in one year is unacceptable. A whole years worth of progress gone just because the device wasn't charged. Not to mention all my save data on various games with less than 10 hours, all gone. My 20 hours in Super Mario Odyssey, Sonic Mania and Splatoon 2 each? Gone. Like how is the console bricked so bad from not being charged that you have to send me a whole new console? Was hardware quality control just simply not done? So my 80 hours on Stardew Valley? Gone.

So it seems instead of fixing my console they just sent me a new console out right. Speaking of scratches I definitely know this isn't my original console because my screen protector is not on it. Not that I was rough on my console or anything but it has not scratches anywhere.

I didn't check the serial number before I sent mines in but the console (the tablet part) that they sent me is in immaculate condition. And it's no surprise that everything is gone because it seems like they sent me a brand new console. Just received it today in the mail, and yep, everything is gone.

A drained battery shouldn't need me to send the whole console in for repairs, that's absolutely ridiculous.Īnd finale update for my Switch debacle. So is there any easy solution or fix? I really don't want to send it to Nintendo as this will be the second time I sent it to them and I'm afraid of losing all of my saves. I've tried doing the factory reset thing but it won't even boot up to that. I've tried just leaving it on the dock to get some type of charge but nothing. I've tried holding the power button down for 30 seconds to power cycle it with no avail. When I remove the AC adapter all together it won't come on at all. When I try to turn it on it will show the Nintendo logo, turn off and go back to flashing. It was sitting untouched for about a month and a half, so the charge was long gone.īut when I try to dock it or plug It up with the AC adapter as shown in th video it shows that battery symbol in the top left and constantly flashes without it ever turning on.

The battery had lost all power, which is admittedly my fault because the last time I used it, it wasn't in a dock but in a case that was sitting on my TV stand. I tried playing my Switch over the weekend and this is what was happening: I'm a teacher and now that the school year is winding down I can finally have some time to game.
